Jocelyn Alsira Solis is an interdisciplinary Honduran artist, educator and maker based in Boston. Jocelyn was raised simultaneously between Virginia and Tegucigalpa. Solis art practice is centered on creating art jewelry as adornments for the body and used as an avenue for storytelling. Pre-Columbian metalsmithing practices, education, migration and cultural socio-political narratives are stimulants to her work. In 2020 she earned a BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA. She is the founder of the art jewelry brand “JAS JOYERIA”.
“JAS JOYERIA” is an art jewelry brand that is focused on handmade pieces to adorn the body. The pieces are one of-a-kind experiences, aiming to give quality to jewelry collectors. The art jewelry pieces are made of .925 sterling silver and gold. On occasions, natural fibers are used. All designs are originals, made to be statements for everyday wear or sculptural pieces. The concept of my making is driven by Pre-Columbian metalsmithing jewelry practices and heavily influenced by nature itself.
